History

1952

The company is founded by Frank Jackson as a public works contractor ‘Roadworks 1952 Ltd’. Early work included roads and sewers for housing schemes and main road improvements.

1976

Throughout the 60s and 70s, the company diversified into building, plant hire and surfacing. In 1976, Roadworks won its first £1m contract.

1996

Roadworks 1952 Ltd becomes Jackson Civil Engineering and Frank Jackson retires.

2004

Management buy out led by current Chief Executive, Richard Neall. Following the MBO, Jackson becomes the largest part of SEH group, which has an annual turnover of £250m.

2014

Richard Neall takes the reins of SEH Group, and the group rebrands as One Group Construction, a group of 8 companies offering a variety of services to the construction sector.

2019

Brian Crofton becomes Jackson’s new Managing Director. Richard Neall steps back.

The Group

Jackson is the largest part of One Group Construction, which is the holding company for a collection of construction related businesses working throughout the United Kingdom. Its subsidiaries work for government departments, fellow private sector organisations as well as directly with the general public through our retail businesses.
